Everyone is fine

Ella went into surgery at 7:49 yesterday and was done by 8:10. We got there at 6:30 and she charmed the nurses and anesthesiologist. Ella had a great temperament until I had to put on the coverall get up so I could go with her while they put her under. She really didn't like it (I admit it was not my best look) and she started realizing then that something was up. Todd was with us and helped me keep Ella occupied. Shortly before surgery, they came in with liquid Tylenol and asked if she had a hard time with medicine. Not this girl. She had her mouth open and ready for the medicine. They wheeled her bed to the OR and I carried her. She tolerated the mask pretty good and before long, she was out. I was escorted out of the room after I gave her a kiss. I took off the OR coverall stuff and went with Todd to the waiting room. In no time the pager went off and the OR nurse said Ella did great and she was sleeping. The doctor came in and asked me to follow him. I heard a baby crying but didn't think it was Ella since I just had heard she was still sleeping. It was Ella and she was very upset when she woke. She didn't want to keep her eyes open but wouldn't keep them shut either. She continued to cry in my arms and while we rocked and then Todd asked if Ella could have a cracker or some juice and that did the trick. From then on it was just sniffles once in a while. After we left the hospital, we stopped at Target to get juice and soup for lunch. By the time we were at home, Ella was back to normal. Playing and running around. I tried to get her to nap but wasn't successful until 1:00. We both napped from 1 - 3 and man was that a great one.

I had called Elizabeth when I was in Target and she had a great time on her sleepover. She asked if Ella missed her and I said Of Course. :-) When I picked her up at 4 I heard all the details. Elizabeth and Sydney had a great time and Elizabeth was a good girl for the Jacksons. It sure made it easier for Ella and I that they had Elizabeth and I really appreciated it.

Last night Ella and I watched Elizabeth rider her two wheeler with training wheels down the front sidewalk. I remember doing the same exact thing when I was her age. Elizabeth has a hard time wrapping her mind around that concept though. Of course, my bike wasn't a Barbie bike. I think mine was a hand me down from my brother Kevin or my cousins in Elk River and got my cool bike when I was 12. I'll post pictures of Elizabeth when I get the film developed. Still waiting on my repaired digital camera.

We had a get together with other adoptive families on Saturday. It was the annual China Reunion with Children's Home Society and it was alot of fun. Its always fun catching up with everyone and the get together is put together very well. One of the things we did was take advantage of a free family photo. I got the email today and they did a great job.
