Another Great Weekend

We had a beautiful fall weekend. It started off with the Kite Festival at Elizabeth's school on Friday night. It was potluck picnic style. Families put their blankets in the assembly room and enjoyed good food. The kids got to make kites and listen to stories and play outside. Elizabeth's kite was pretty good. She was even running around outside with it yesterday.

Saturday we hung out at home with a side trip to Target. We had our family photo appointment in the afternoon and the girls needed new shoes to go with their dresses. They ended up going barefoot in the photo session but now they have cute red shoes too! Maybe we can use them at Christmas time.

I had bought two matching Chinese dresses in China and planned on using them for the photo. Earlier last week I had both girls try them on again. Well Ella's barely fit but we had just had supper. It fit alot better on Saturday. Before we left for the appointment, I took a few shots. The shoes they are wearing are not the ones I bought but are the ones Elizabeth felt should be used. I also had them do a couple of funny shots.

We stopped at Dad's to show him the pretty dresses and the girls got a ride on Dad's walker. I took a picture but it was with my new cell phone and I don't have the software loaded yet to this pc so I can't download it. I'll update the blog some day soon with that one.

After that we came home and made beds, had supper and watched some tv. While Elizabeth and I were making her bunk beds up, she wanted to say a prayer to my mom. It was so sweet. She has a picture of my mom in her room (I need to get one for Ella too) and Elizabeth said this was a prayer to have Mom help us and that she loved her and that I loved my mom too. She said it was a prayer to God from Elizabeth and my mom Joan. What a sweet heart!

Sunday we got up about 8 and had breakfast and went to church. Elizabeth has been going to a religious class on Sundays and Ella and I go to 9:30 mass. We get to sit in the baby room. Its better for the people around us. Ella is pretty good but doesn't understand the concept of why you need to be quiet in church sometimes.

After church we met up with Kevin and Dad and my nephew Lee at a restaurant in Rosedale. My girls had some brunch (I was surprised they were hungry again) and I had an awesome roll with coffee. It was great seeing Lee. I was so happy to talk to him about his plans. He has had some great things happening and I am very happy for him.

From there the girls and I hung out at the play area that is right outside a dollar store. So of course we went in there too. Elizabeth has a huge thing for dollar stores. Ella still noticed the halloween masks hanging up at the store next to it but didn't seem scared this time. She has been showing more and more love and affection and is not hitting as much. But, when she does, she gives me or Elizabeth a kiss right away. So, the message is getting through. She loves giving me hugs an kisses and it is getting easier for her to do the same with her big sister. So, Ella is making great strides all around.

We then had a fun afternoon raking leaves and playing outside. We were all very tired by the end of the day. It took a long time to get them both awake this morning. And then I got a nice surprise at daycare. Instead of crying Ella said, Bye Mom so off I went. That felt good.
