Chinese New Year at Yinghua

Yesterday Elizabeth's school celebrated Chinese New Year. I wish my pictures were as good as the Star Tribune. Please click here for a slide show. Elizabeth is in at least 3 of the pictures and they even caught me in a couple. Thank goodness for front row seats. Friday morning the girls woke early and decided to watch a movie while having cereal. I got them set up and then went up and got myself ready. This is what I saw when I came down. I see more and more examples of the sister bond getting stronger and stronger. It is so wonderful to watch. I had doubts at the beginning last May and June. I was able to take half the day off to go see the celebration at Yinghua. I decided to leave Ella at Daycare so that Elizabeth and I could have a special day. Elizabeth was excited about that too. She was singing a song in the car on the way to daycare and school about a special day with mother. It was cute but I distracted them with a different song so Ella wouldn't feel bad. At Yinghua, I used my camcorder for the most part and I have not figured out yet how to upload that to my computer to edit. Hopefully one of these days. But, here is one of the pictures I took during the Lion Dance. After the celebration we went and picked up Ella. From there we went to Har Mar to find winter boots for the girls. Poor Ella, her toes are right at the edge. But, we couldn't find any boots except for one size 5.... way too small. We did meet up with Reenie, Tammy, Michael and Cindy. We walked around together and had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was interesting picking food without meat. Back to the old Lenten obligation until Easter. Luckily the kids don't have to do that. Today Elizabeth had a birthday party to go to and Ella and I went to a Chinese New Year opent house at Michelle's. Thanks for having us Michelle. It was a nice party. It was great to see Malia's pictures too. Michelle got her daughter's referral last week. So, we are anxious to meet our new friend Malia. Ella had fun checking out her bedroom and all the toys. At night we had movie night with Pizza. Here is a picture as well of the two sisters hanging out together with pizza faces. I swear Ella was smiling but stopped when I took the picture.

LOVE it! It was great to see you at FCC New Year today! It's clear to me the girls are growing closer as sisters!

It was fun seeing you and Ella on Saturday. I can't wait to have Malia home to play with all of the girls. It also looked like a fun party at Elizabeth's school. What a glimpse into my potential future.
