Well the car wouldn't start after I left daycare. I have been having issues with it off and on the last week so I decided to just call a tow truck and bring it in. I rented a little Ford Focus and went to work. They called before I got to work to say its the starter. Not a surprise since the car is a 2000. I sure hope I can squeak out a couple more years of no car payments. I'll get a budget going so I can get my finances back in check. Its nice driving a new car and the girls will get a kick out of it. My guess is my car will be ready today or tomorrow so we are going to drive the little focus tonight. I have until noon tomorrow to bring it back.
But, I needed to get my 2000 Ford Taurus up and running. We have a busy weekend getting ready for Ella's upcoming procedure. Last month Ella and I went back to Gillette's for Ella's six month speech evaluation. She did great with the flash cards but turns out she needs more surgery. They did a test that measured the amount of air coming out her nose when she talks. She is 5 times the norm. Ba ba ba was the test. When she said that she registered a 71 on the meter. The norm is 15. So Dr Wood explained she would need Pharyngeal Flap repair. Its a one hour surgery with a week recovery at home. So all prayers and good thoughts accepted.
Todd is taking Ella and I to the hospital on Monday. Elizabeth will stay at Reenies Monday night. After Ella is all recovered, she will be doing speech therapy. Next week she will be on a soft food diet. Monday she won't be able to eat in the morning but can have liquids until 11. The surgery is at 2:15 and we will be at the hospital way before that.
So, I am glad to have a car that will be in fine working order. My credit card is going to be bruised after today but the rebate check coming in a few weeks will help with that.
UPDATE:
After one day with the little Focus I am very excited to get my Taurus back. The back seat was so small and it was hard to get the car seats buckled in. But, I have to tell you what Elizabeth said when she go in. Sweet Baby! :-)
Ella had her Pre Op Doctor Appointment yesterday. She had some blood drawn, temp taken, weight checked and height verified. She is 31.6 lbs and 35 inches tall. Her temp was in the normal range but she does have the beginnings of a cold - sneezy and congested. This morning she is froggy voiced too. I gave her some tylenol to stay ahead of the game - hopefully. But, please say prayers she gets over this cold by Monday so her surgery can go ahead as planned.
