Tired and sick

Both Ella and I are fighting the cruds still. I left work early on Friday to see if I could postpone the bit hit. I don't think it worked. But, the funny thing is I seem to feel better when we are outside. I cleaned the house yesterday with some wonderful help from Elizabeth and then we spent a couple hours outside in the 62 degree weather. Man that was nice. I even put away the snow shovels. I know that is courting disaster but I feel comfortable with my decision. I also brought the gas grill out to the patio. I predict we will be BBQing some burgers this week!

After playing we came in and Ella napped, I rested on the couch and Elizabeth watched Mary Poppins. Ella woke in time to watch a bit of it. The girls had a little supper and then we went to the store. Today we are hosting a family party for Ella so I picked up some Simeks Lasagna and Cesear Salad and breadsticks. The box for the lasagna is so big I have to keep making sure the freezer stays shut.

Its really been nice being outside the last couple of days. Elizabeth has been riding her bike and Ella the trike. I told Elizabeth it won't be long and the training wheels will be off. That will be exciting!

Well time for one more cup of coffee before I get ready for church. Have a great Sunday and I'll update with party info and pictures later today.

UPDATE
We had a great day. After I posted the post above I went up to get the girls ready to pick up Poppa for church. Neither one wanted to get out of bed and I was running out of time. so, I turned Elizabeth's lights back off and called Todd to see if he could come sit with the girls. He was having breakfast but got here within 20minutes I think. Thanks Todd. Elizabeth decided to go with me anyway but Ella slept in. Todd visited with us for a little bit when we got back with Poppa after church but then he left to get his stuff done. I made breakfast and we had a nice morning. I tried taking a nap at that point but no luck. So Elizabeth and I made Ella's birthday cake. Here is the finished product.

About then Ella was getting cranky and I still hadn't had my nap yet so off we went. Elizabeth stayed downstairs with Poppa. Thanks Dad for keeping an eye on Elizabeth. Both Ella and I woke 2 hours later with 20 minutes to spare before our company came. The nap helped but people kept calling me petrie (spelling?) dish all day. I would hate to think how I would have looked and sounded without that nap. So thanks again Dad! Elizabeth had a little snooze downstairs too and Dad watched the Twins game.

Ella was very excited to see everyone and had a great time with her presents.

Then Ella found my camera and took alot of pictures. I deleted 90% of them but here are a couple she did pretty good with. I think she had help with the group shot (thanks Grandma).

About then dinner was about ready. And I think it turned out well even with the grief my brother Kevin gave me as well as the grief from Todd. They were teasing me that the lasagna was Simeks and the salad was prepackaged and the bread sticks were cooked from frozen. Funny thing everything was eaten all gone! :-)

Grandma was able to read to Ella from the new book Shelby and her family gave her.

After dinner was Cake Time.

Then the kids played with the big girls Shelby and Alissa and it sounded like old times. Us kids with Jerry and Joanne's would play like that while the adults played cards and sat around the dining room table. We did the same except for cards. It was a nice day and a great evening.

The girls went to bed early - school is back in session tomorrow and I am going shortly. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. One last picture of Ella. I put her in jeans on Friday and she was just so cute with her hands in her pockets. She has also started telling me stuff while putting her hands on her hips. Oh Lord not another one with attitude. :-)
