Ella's Backpack

On Tuesday Ella put 4 DVDs and 4 Books in her backpack.

That night Mom got to read a note from her teacher. Here is part of it:

"Today she had her backpack full of movies and books and it was difficult for her to carry it. Could she please leave those things at daycare? Then nothing will get lost either"

Ella is going to school today with a note in her backpack from me to her teacher:
"Thank you for the notes. I also appreciate your request that Ella carry less in her backpack :-). I had tried explaining that to her that morning as well. Sometimes kids only believe the teacher!"

Today her backpack will hold the note and her spare jacket.

I did try to talk her out of the extra stuff on Tuesday but I also believe in letting my girls learn from their choices when its safe.

Snort. Gotta love that Ella. And she has one smart momma.

I like your thinking... sometimes it really is important to let kids learn lessons on their own.

I'm with you mom - send the DVD's and books - if they get lost or are heavy - lesson learned!
