Happy Year of the Ox

We have had a wonderful weekend.

Yesterday we were invited to go to my cousin Dick's house for CNY dinner. His wife Jean is from China and it was a blast. It was great food and a wonderful time. Dad was not moving great at first but by the time dinner was over he was able to walk downstairs to play cards with Norm, Dick and Gary. They are my cousins - their mom was my dad's sister Alice. We used to spend alot of time with them when we were kids. The night was wonderful. Thanks again Dick and Jean and sorry about Ella. Ella had a little too much of the bubbly and we barely made it to the bathroom before she threw up all over me and a little on her. She had two glasses of the kids bubbly grape drink and that was one glass too many. I am thankful it happened in the bathroom and we didn't ruin any one's meal. Ella was fine after and we were both cleaned up as best as we could. Thank you Jean for the Red Envelopes for the girls... that was very nice of you.

Saturday we went to see the play Good Night Moon with friends at Stages Theatre. It was a great event. I loved sitting with my girls and friends watching a cute play. Ella was not impressed but Elizabeth loved it. They have another play coming up soon based on Elizabeth, The Paperbag Princess, so I believe Itty and I will be having a date. Ella will be at a babysitter. At the end, the cast was in the hall and signed programs. It was fun. Then a few of us went for ice cream. We walked back to our car and oh my... the poor car was cold. This was the first time I remember it having a hard time turning. It happened on Sunday too. So, its getting up there and getting achy joints... I can empathize. :-)

Friday we had friends over for dinner. We had Mexican White Chili. It turned out great. Thanks for passing the recipe on to me Todd.

Have a great week.

Friday Ella said it was raining in the house but then she said there was a rainbow.

Elizabeth dressing up on Saturday Morning. She called this outfit Princess Queen.

This is the look I got when I asked for a nice face:

I just saw the cutest picture of the girls. Some of us went out for Ice Cream after the play on Saturday and Tracy got a great picture. Check out her blog here We were missing Julie and Tess - they were not able to stay for ice cream.

Gung Hay Fat Choy to you and the girls! Ella can come stay with me when you and Elizabeth go to the play as you will be right in my neighborhood; just a couple blocks away! Michelle

I love it when a girl can find the rainbow in the middle of the rain...it is a great philosophy for life ;)
