This is a big day in our life.
This is the day that Isabella Rose Zhi K. has been with her forever family LONGER than anyone else in her life. Earlier this year I counted the days Ella was with her birth family and foster family and then calculated how long until we were the family she was with longest. (Ella was born on 3/31/2005 and lived with her foster family for most of those 2 + years. We were put together on 5/8/2007.) We hit that major milestone today!
Ella has changed so much in the 2 PLUS years with us. I am amazed and humbled by the love she has in her little body. I look back at pictures from the first days in 2007 and she didn't smile much. She didn't look sad so much but just wary I guess. Now she knows that Elizabeth and I are her family and nothing is going to change that. Over time, Ella's caring sweet nature has come out more and more.
She is always holding my hand, asking for hugs, telling me she loves me, telling Elizabeth she loves her, telling us who she misses and even knows she can be mad and we will still be there for her.
I am so lucky to be the mom of these two girls and I am excited to see what each day brings with them.

Joan - I get chills when I read your posts - This is good - thank you for allowing me to see into your life and share in the joys and sorrows.
