Car Talks

This morning we were talking about Elizabeth's two day day camp for adopted kids that is taking place this week. We talked about how they will do crafts, maybe do a play or some time of role play, as well as play time. And next year maybe Ella will go because its for adopted kids but they have to be entering kindergarten.

Elizabeth had it all figured out (sort of):
"I'm adopted, Ella's adopted and you're adopted Mom"

"No, I wasn't adopted honey"

"Why not?"

"Because I grew in my mommy's tummy and was her baby. You guys grew in another mommy's tummy and then your foster moms took care of you until I could come and get you and be your Forever mom"

"How come I didn't stay with my Foster Family Mom?"

"Because Foster Families are there to help babies until their forever moms can come get them. The people in charge in China brought you to your Foster Moms until I could come get you"

"What if I get to see them in China"

"I'll be with"

"Why"

"So I can tell them how much they mean to me and to thank them for loving my girls" (this was the only time I got choked up).

Elizabeth then told me how to say it in Chinese. So we had more discussions of how happy they will be that Elizabeth and Ella will be able to talk in Chinese and how the People in Charge in China will be happy too. Elizabeth can ask questions and I'll video tape it. The whole time we were talking, Ella was very quiet. But, all in all, the conversation went well I think.

Glad you are paving this path ahead of me. You will be my guide. Sounds like you did well!

Good job with a difficult conversation! I am not as good at it- yet. I should be getting lots of practice in the future with 4 girls from China!

Your girls are adorable! Such blessings!
