What a fun morning I had with Ella.
It was Bring your Parents to Pre K Day.
I hope this goes a very long way to showing Ella how happy I am for her to go to school.
We started with signing in and had a blast the whole time. I got to watch Ella do what she does daily. While she was signing her name, her teacher told me she was going to teach Ella how to spell her last name. Good Luck with one. But, Ella has been able to spell her name for a long time. The kids all lined up well and listened to their teachers and were nice to each other. The kids had breakfast, outdoor play, big circle time, small group, free play and then revisit. It was good to see the interaction and meet some of the other parents. One dad said he sees Ella every day and she was very shy. That was shocking... my Ella has never been shy. That helped me though. If she really is as shy as he indicated, I now have an action plan. I will encourage Ella to be like she is at day care. She made it her goal to know the names of the parents at day care. I'll see if she can do the same at school. Maybe that will help her self confidence. I'll also remind her how well she does at putting her coat away and takes great care of her back pack at home so I know she does a great job at school.
