Some idiot called in a threat to the Minneapolis information line this morning. He said he was going to shoot up a school and then shoot himself. He didn't indicate any school so all schools in Minneapolis were under a lock down all day today.
I was in a training class at work this morning and first heard of the lock down when I read the online version of the Star Trib. I called Elizabeth's school and found out they did send an email to parents. I didn't get one. I have now double checked the email lists and they put me back on. I was on it last year but didn't double check this school year. So, lesson learned for me. Double Check Every Year.
The kids are fine. But, my anxious feeling won't go away until I have my girl with me again.
Ella has a doctor appointment this afternoon because her ear is hurting her. So as soon as we are done with that we will head to school to get Itty.
The big news for today was going to be that I was dropping off Ella's enrollment package for Yin*hua. I still am.
Update.
Ella has an ear infection and has now started her meds. On the way there she was telling me she had a grasshopper in her ear. I asked if he was hopping or buzzing... he was buzzing. The only bad moment was when they had to wash out her ear to get a good view of the ear drum. That was pretty uncomfortable for my girl. They told her it was to get the potatoes out of her ears... she told them she has banannas in her ears. After they tried flushing the wax out of the infected ear Ella told us all that she changed her mind and only one ear hurts, not both. She also told me she didn't like being brave. But she does it so well. Thank you Ella - you are a brave, brave, girl.
There were no problems at Elizabeth's school and I was very impressed with how well everything was handled. The teachers and staff were attentive but relaxed. Safety first. Hope they can find the nimrod that scared so many people today.

Wow, I forgot Elizabeth would be impacted. I am glad everything was OK. As for the ears, I totally understand. It is so hard for the girls.
