Oh What a Wonderful Night

We had a ROCKING great time at Grandma Jo's and Uncle Jerry's 50th Wedding Anniversary Party on Saturday.  Lots of family and never ending love.  And my girls cut a new rug.  The tone was started early when Elizabeth and Ella asked if they could stay up until Midnight, please Mom?

Sure - go for it.

And they did it.  (a little  nap in between but we don't have to count that)

Our day started at Gymnastics.  It was "Bring your Parent's week" so I had better access for pictures.

Ella loves the bars.

This is a breeze for Elizabeth

Elizabeth kept her balance on the beam.

Learning to hold her muscles strong and tight.

Ella just started doing the higher beam without help! (I did have her hair in a pigtail with a barrette, but they fell out and Ella wouldn't let me fix it.)

Then we went home and relaxed before leaving for the BIG EVENT!!!!

Lynn was dropped off and drove with us to get Dad.  We then picked up Doreen and were on our way.  Kevin was fishing but met us at the party and they took Dad home later.  But, let me tell you about Dad!  When I got to his place to pick him up, he wasn't sure he would be able to go to the party.  His Parkinson's was kicking him hard that day. But, he decided to give it a shot and he was happy he did.  Dad was able to visit with alot of family and old friends.  Thanks everyone for stopping by the table to visit with Dad.  I wonder if they were as surprised as I was later.  My FATHER was having so much fun and then about the time Kevin wanted to leave, Dad found young legs.  He was walking and grooving to the music without wheelchair or cane.  Kevin had to wait for Dad and it was wonderful to see Dad enjoying himself so much.

My Uncle Jere and his old band mates were the musical entertainment.  So, I can understand why Dad felt the groove and why my girls were Dancing Machines.  Uncle Jere - you guys were great!

The rest of the night was watching the girls dance and visiting with family.  I did dance with Ella some but Elizabeth was having too much fun with her cousins and dancing by herself and I loved watching her. I lifted some of these pictures from Madi's Facebook page - Thanks!

Molly and Elizabeth.  Molly is Joanne and Jerry's Granddaughter and she sang Amazing Grace.  Your voice is amazing Molly and you were a joy to watch.

Just a few of Jerry and Joanne's grandchildren.

Thanks Luann (Jerry and Joanne's daughter) for letting Ella take pictures with your super sweet camera.  You are a wonderful cousin

The party was wonderful.  Jerry and Joanne's kids put on a great party.  We were happy to stay late and celebrate with you all.  Our families have always been close and I am blessed by that.  You have opened your arms to my girls too and they adore you as well.  Thank you Grandma Jo, Uncle Jerry and all your family.  You guys Rock!
Thank you Aunt Joyce for letting Ella nap on your lap for so long.

It looks like a fun and lovely party. What a great memory for your girls--and your dad! Hey, what happened to the photos of Joan doing the splits like Elizabeth or walking on a balance beam like Ella? It WAS "Bring Your Parents" day at gymnastics. ;-)
