Merry Christmas

It has been a relaxing holiday for us.  Which is exactly what we needed.

The only downside is Elizabeth has a fever.  It started Friday (100.4) which went down after meds.  She woke up flaming hot in the night - more meds.  Yesterday she was fine until after her nap.  We had gone grocery shopping and all was well until we were about done and I saw her eyes... rushed through the rest of the list and got home for rest.  After she woke up her fever was 101.5.  Meds helped again and she only took one more before sleeping last night.  So far no fever today.  But not alot of energy either.

Last night I was so tired we went to bed without putting out Santa's cookies and milk.  I told the girls I would get back up later and do it then.  I had a couple other things I had to do as well :-)

With that middle of the night nap, I had a hard time getting back to sleep.  I think it was 2 am before I fell back to sleep.

The next sounds I heard was the front door.  The screen door was slamming shut at least twice.  I checked in Ella's bed and thought I saw her.  Elizabeth was sleeping in my bed so I knew where my kids were.  It was about 7:30 am and I went downstairs and saw the open door.  It scared the crap out of me.  Then Ella came in the door with the remaining milk and cookies that Santa didn't eat.  OH MY LORD GIRL.   :-)

Elizabeth was awake then too and that started the opening.  Both girls were happy with their gifts and were glad I got things in my Santa Stocking too.  Right now Ella is playing with her addition to her Little Pony set and Elizabeth is getting her manicure set ready.

I can't wait to use my gifts.  Santa gave me chocolate mint cookies, reeses candy,  two new pink erasers and two black sharpie pens along with pretty bath products.  The girls kept stealing my erasers so I am glad Santa replaced them.  When Elizabeth saw them she said "Santa knew you needed more Mom!"  And when she saw the black sharpies she said "Lucky Mom"  Paper, pens and writing tools have always been her fav.

Later we will go see Dad and then come home to  have roast beef sandwiches and cheesy potatoes.  I put it in the crock pot a little bit ago.  My guess is we will be doing some Wii later as they got new games - just dance 3 and a karoke one with microphone.  Maybe Elizabeth will video it with her new video camera.  Santa was very frugal and found a nice one that isn't too expensive.

Merry Christmas!

Update - we never went to see Dad.  Elizabeth's fever came back and we didn't want him to get sick.  I did call him and talked a bit.  I'll stop by to see him later in the week.

Merry Christmas! Our Christmas didn't go exactly as planned either. Our tree fell down Christmas Eve and Flynn is still battling her ear infection. Still, we're happy to be together. We're so lucky to have our beautiful girls. I wish you all the best in 2012.
