So this weekend while we were making cookies Elizabeth and I were listening to music and just plopping premade cookies on the cookie sheet. (we do shortcuts here - tastes great, less work) A song came on where the guy was saying something about the other person not knowing them at all. Out of the blue Elizabeth said that her real family doesn't know her at all. I agreed and she seemed ok with that. She went on to say that her foster family doesn't really know her either. I said that they knew her beginnings, when she was younger. Yes, she agreed but said they don't really know me now. What don't they know about you? (Remember we spent a couple of days with them last summer in China). She said, they don't know what I do for a living. Well... I didn't either so I asked. Well duh Mom (she really didn't use "duh" cuz that is not allowed but she implied it) - GYMNASTICS. :-) Good point Elizabeth - good point.
We hosted Easter at our home. The girls did eggs and other crafts. They made "stained glass" crosses, eggs and hearts. They are hanging in the dining room and were beautiful sun catchers on Sunday. We all went to church with Dad and had a really nice time here. It was a smaller family gathering but very nice. Dad was laughing and Kevin was teasing Doreen and Lee came too. It was fun for us all.
Thank you for my many blessings sweet Jesus and I am very grateful for the time I was able to spend with my girls last week while they were on spring break.
I have been changing the heading picture on the blog to old ones of me, my brothers and my Mom and Dad. I have this one as the header right now but it is one of my absolute favs of my parents. It was taken the year they got married. I just love my Dad's hat and my Mom's smile (those shoes are killer too). Aren't they just so cute?
