Last night was gymnastics for Elizabeth.
She has been working hard to accomplish new skills so she can move up to team level.
Last night she surprised herself and the coaches.
She did her first unassisted back round off handspring on the floor.
Now, I may have that labeled wrong... I still need Gymnastics for Dummies because I don't know all the positions... but I was watching when she did it and I still get thrills.
Ella and I had run to the grocery store and got back while Elizabeth's group was working on vault. When she moved to floor routines she looked up and saw me and smiled. When it was her turn and she did the back roundoffie thing she thought her coach was spotting her. And by spotting that meant one finger on Elizabeth's back. So basically she had been doing the skill for awhile but it was the first time she did it unassisted. The look of surprise and then delight on E's face was priceless. And I was jumping up and down cheering for her in the viewing area. Ella was playing a game on her dsi. ;-)
The team had a quick water break after that so I ran down and Elizabeth ran to me and said MOM I DID IT! and she jumped into my arms! I am so proud of her hard work. Way to go Miss E - and then she did it again after practice was all done. Awesome!
If you see her, let her mention it first because she told me not to put it on Facebook. I think she forgot about the blog. :-)
