Here is a copy of an email I sent Reenie today. It's Valentine's Day and I was not looking forward to it so I found a way to make it better:
In case you are crabby about this day like I am – I thought
I would share a funny.
One night this week Ella got up from her bed and came in to
talk to me. She told me she thought she was growing and no longer needed
training bras and wanted to know the next step. I must not have shown the
correct facial expression because she turned around and said I’ll ask
Elizabeth, she’s the expert. I was laughing on the inside and now
when I think of it I can’t help but chuckle. Elizabeth told her no – she
wasn’t ready for the next step yet.
Another Ella funny – today she was asking if I thought some
of her friends thought her experiences at Yinghua was fact or just a
claim. I said some of her St Marks friends will believe her without
seeing the facts but some may not. LOL So, she went on to say that
she didn’t want them to think her surgery was a claim and not a fact so she has
shown them her scar. I asked where she did that and she said during
indoor recess. I told her to be careful because her underwear may come
down but she assured me she had both hands on it. So I then asked
if she showed her scar to any of the boys and she said No Mom. Her
scar is on her hip.
At times I get pretty lonely and get tired of being the only
adult in this family but moment like that ease my burden so I thought I would
share.

You know you should write these down. I think some day you could
write a book on “Ellism’s” She is the most unique individual I’ve ever
known. She cracks me up. It will be so interesting to see what kind of
adult she turns out to be.
Thanks for sharing! J
