Tooth Fairies, Santa, Elf and other stuff

Its been a busy holiday season.   Our first without Dad and that is hard but we also know that Dad is healthy and happy where he is now.   When we do something silly one of us will usually say, I bet Grandpa is laughing.   So, we keep him in our hearts for sure.

We have had a long dry spell related to losing teeth.  Last Saturday Elizabeth finally lost the one she had been working on.  It was so gross in her mouth I couldn't look.  She lost it at gymnastics.  It was the last one of the session and she ran over to give it to me.  Oh Joy.   Ella was at home.  That is a nice change too... one or both of the girls stay home for short periods more and more.   But, anyway, Elizabeth wrote her note to the TF and I tried not to wake her but I did.... she fell back asleep and somehow still believes.  The sweet girl added a request for a gift for Ella too since Ella has been feeling bad about not losing teeth.  So the TF did both.

Yesterday Elizabeth lost another tooth.   This time the TF was quieter in leaving the reward.  So quiet that Elizabeth didn't find it at first.  ;-)

On another note - the girls also still believe in the elf on the shelf.  Our's is now named Fredricka.... originally ours was named Freddy but the next season his cousin Fredricka came.  This year Fredricka helped me to give the girls an early Christmas present.  I put the cards on the tree and Fredricka was between them.   It was fun and the details will be in another post.

Today I am working from home but on my lunch hour Elizabeth and I ran to the store and Ella stayed home again.   Earlier they were making blankets by hand sewing and did a great job.  One is going to be a gift for their Florida cousins.   :-)  The girls just came in from shoveling the snow... another great benefit of their ages.  I don't mind paying for allowance for that and Ella is washing dishes as I type.

I love the changes the girls are showing and hope I keep my sense of humor as it continues.  The talk now with Ella is about Instagram and "cool" posts and Elizabeth is Face timeing with her friends about boys.   Oh boy... but they keep talking to me about it and not hiding it so that is good.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
