We survived day one of going back to work and daycare. Both girls were good about getting ready fast in the morning. We left the house at 7:30 for daycare and I was back in my car at 7:42 to go to work. On the way to daycare we talked about the day again. When we pulled up to daycare, Ella started crying but both Elizabeth and I told her it would be ok and that Mom was coming back. In the house Elizabeth was the main comfort for Ella. It was so sweet to see. I gave them both hugs and kisses and then Elizabeth gave Ella a hug and said, Its Ok Ella. She then suggested a family hug and I said my good byes. I was expecting at least 10 minutes of this goodbye but Elizabeth had the cure. Ella was crying but Elizabeth took her hand (and Ella let her) and brought Ella to the toys in the other room. Ella went willingly with slight tears and then no tears. At that point I said, Hope you had a nice weekend Beth but I am going to boogy out of here during the quiet. I called at 9:45 and Ella was sleeping. I also talked to Elizabeth and let her know how proud I was of her. I told her she was the main reason Ella did so well and that she is an amazing big sister. After work we went to Home Depot to get another gallon of paint for Ella's room. Then we went to Burger King (with a playland) to celebrate a great first day. When the girls were going to bed Elizabeth told me how she had tucked Ella in for her nap and wanted to do the same at night. I hope it goes as well today.
Sorry no pictures - my digital camera is in repair and the pictures I took yesterday are on a regular camera. I'll upload them when the film is developed.
