Purple Mittens and Bunk Beds

Since its been so cold the last couple of days, I asked Elizabeth to get some mittens for her to bring to school. She also decided it would be good to get Ella some out too. So we brought out the mitten/hat box from last winter and I put Elizabeth on task. While she was doing that I brought out a load of stuff to the car. We seem to bring more and more stuff to work and school and daycare so today it seemed wise to bring that out first before herding the girls out. When I came back in, Ella was on the kitchen floor with the purple mittens on her feet. They looked cute but I wasn't able to get a photo. Elizabeth had her mittens ready and got my ok to wear my stocking cap to school. So, after getting socks and shoes on Ella, off we went.

After work, the girls and I went to visit my dad at his assisted living apartment. He has been feeling a little run down so I wanted to check on him. The girls love seeing Poppa and they were very gentle with him. Elizabeth wanted to help him so she talked him into sitting on his wheelchair so she could push him around. They did pretty good too. We didn't stay long but had a good visit while there. On the way home Elizabeth fell asleep. Ella fell asleep on the way there... so all was even.

It was bed time when we got home so the girls got all ready and we read a book. Ella didn't want to sleep in her bed and tried every trick to get me to agree to letting her sleep in my bed. No luck sugar. I ended up laying down with her in her bed while she fell asleep. Elizabeth decided this was the night she was going to sleep in the upper bunk of her bunk bed. She has asked to do it before but hadn't felt ready. As a matter of fact, I originally thought the girls would share a room but Elizabeth wasn't ready to be on the upper bunk when we got back from China. So the spare room became Ella's. Well, Elizabeth fell asleep and is sleeping still - on the upper bunk! They grow so fast. I can't wait for her to wake up tomorrow and to realize what she did!

I was even able to have some free time to myself and got dishes washed and the house picked up somewhat. So, a good night for all!
