11/27/1957 Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad

My parent's would have had their 50th wedding anniversary this last week. They married on November 27th, 1957. My mom died August 17th, 1968. I don't remember celebrating their anniversary but I am sure they did. If Mom was still living we would have had a big celebration honoring them. I miss my mom every day and know she would love my girls as much as Poppa does.

For those family and friends reading this blog that were there the day my Mom and Dad got married, please feel free to write down your memories from that day or of my parents in general on the comments section.

To add the comment, click on Comment then fill in the text. Further down you will need to type in the funky text and then click on Nickname if you don't have a blogger account.

Love you All.

Email from my Aunt Judy:
Hi Joan, just was on your site! Such a beautiful site to read and enjoy. I did try to leave a comment but don't think I know how to do it. I do remember well your Mom and Dads wedding! Being I was 7 month's along with Cindi I was not in the wedding party,,,,,but was asked to sing which I was proud and happy to do. I had made a new outfit to wear just for the day. I made all my clothes back then. It was such a beautiful wedding! Grace looked so beautiful and Rich so handsome. It was the first day I had ever went into a bar!!! Of course I had nothing but pop to drink. We always had such good times together. Wish Grace was still with us but know how proud She is of all of you,,,,,,and proud of Rich and the job He did raiseing you three. And with us three older girls all dateing at the same time------well some fun times. Thanks for the memories you have brought back. I have been thinking about your Mom all week. Love Judy

Email from Uncle Jere

Hi Joan....

read your blog.... neat job.... tried to enter my comment. but did something wrong, so here it is...

Originally I was a flower boy for your Moms first planned wedding when engaged to Maurice VanDrumme.. Well, that never happened and is a or was a good thing. Course, me being a little guy at that time thought that was the end of the world. I remember I started to cry and Grace came over and reassured me it was ok. Course, me being a little boy was all worried for her (grace) that She would'nt ever get married.!!! everyone thought that was pretty cute. !!!!... So, I never did get to be a flower boy !!!! That must have been were I went wrong, huh? take care LYA U. Jere
