Hair Cut Part 2 and Good Girls

I took Elizabeth in to have her hair cut yesterday. She wanted to go to the same place I took Ella last week. So off we went to Great Clips. We even had the same hair dresser. The funny thing is she looked at Ella and said, "are we going to make your hair pretty today?" I told her she did that last week. :-) She did end up remembering us after a little bit. I am sure they see tons of people so I am amazed she did remember. Elizabeth has been amazing lately. She is always a good girl but she is going the extra mile. She is doing things without being told and doing them with great attitude. Just last night she picked out her clothes for today and set them up neatly for both her and Ella. Earlier she had started to sweep up the mess she made doing crafts and was doing a great job until she saw the ants. I don't know where they come from but we have ants that love crackers. Both girls were screaming and on the table while Mom finished sweeping to get rid of the little buggers. I'll have to find a good bug killer this year. I am surprised they are out already though... it hasn't been that warm. I have been telling Elizabeth how proud I am of her and how great a big sister she is and she just glows. Last night I told her I appreciate her. That led to a litany of what she appreciates. She also told me I am her Bestest Mom Ever. Pretty high praise indeed. I even snuck in a comment about how I appreciate her birth mom and foster mom. I want my girls to know its ok to talk about their past whenever they want and that I really do appreciate the gift their first parents gave to them and to me. I also told Elizabeth she is the Bestest Big Girl Ever. Another fun thing is the girls are starting to tell jokes and crack each other up. They take turns saying Knock Knock jokes. Of course, they don't really make sense but they sure are funny saying them. I cracked up so much last night I almost wet my pants. :-) We got a letter from Ella's Medical Team at Gillettes yesterday. It was a recap of last week's visit. They also detailed how she was supposed to still be on a liquid diet last week and this week we could start soft breads and soft pasta with regular diet next week. Opps... we did that a week ahead of time. Ella is back to her regular eating machine ways and she sure is happy. Now we just wait for the first speech therapy appointment and then I won't ever get to say a word in this house again - with my Knock Knock Girls. Playing Polly Pockets on Saturday: Elizabeths New Haircut - I asked her to smile and she gave me this face: But then she gave me a nice smile: And here I said Knock Knock to Ella:

Way to go Elizabeth - you are a special girl and so is Ella, and your Mom!

Love the haircuts! Tess and Muriel got their haircuts together yesterday too! It was a haircutting day all around!
