The Mediator

Last night was gymnastics and then we went out to Snuffys to eat with Todd. Beth, Sydney, Max and Jonah met us there as well. We all had a great time. The adults were able to visit and the kids had shakes and played with the candy game. When we got home, the girls watered the plants in the back yard... they were pretty dry. Once we got in the house it was close to 9pm and they asked to watch a movie. I said no and explained they needed to get upstairs to bed. I told them they could watch a movie tonight. Elizabeth took the news ok but Ella was very upset. Here is the discussion that took place while Ella and Elizabeth were in Ella's room

Ella "I mad at Mom"
Elizabeth "Why?"
Elizabeth "Mom can we have some alone time please" and then she shut the door.
Of course I stood outside to listen :-)
Elizabeth "Ella come sit by MeMe on the bed" "Why are you mad at Mom?"
Ella "Loud in my ears" "No movie"
Elizabeth "Mom yelled at you?"
Ella "Yeuup" (I don't think I did but I guess Ella thought so)
Elizabeth then got off the bed to open the door so I went into my room to continue changing for bed.

Elizabeth "Mom, it hurts feelings when you yell"
Mom "I'm sorry Ella" "Thank you for being such a great sister Elizabeth" "You are a great mediator"
Ella gave me a kiss and a hug and Elizabeth smiled.
