Summer illnesses have hit around here. Yesterday my daycare provider had to close because she is sick. She has had the bug for a week or more. She was closed one day last week too. She was hoping to get in to the doc yesterday so she could fib a little to get some Z pack so she will be on the road to recovery. Alot of the kids at daycare have runny noses, including Ella. Now this morning I woke with a stuffed head. The weekend can't come soon enough.
Yesterday, I tried working from home. Thankfully the boss said it was up to me. I am out of vacation days so I really wanted to try. The paychecks are a little tight when I am missing a day or two of pay. I accrue vacation time every pay period but can't seem to get ahead. This started this winter and continued with Ella's surgery and recovery time. I really hope I can have a pay period where I don't need to use FTO so I can try to save some. LOL
So, back to yesterday. I explained to both girls they need to be big girls because Mom is going to work. I explained that Beth was sick and we were going to stay home. I didn't want fighting or too much bugging of Mom. I start work at 8, by 9:05 I had had enough. I called the boss again and left a message that it wasn't working. By then I had sent the girls upstairs because I was sick and tired of the fighting. They were crying, I was mad and it was clear the two of them are just too young for me to work from home with. So, I'll be bringing my lunch from now on to try and save some money. It will be better for me health wise too so that's a nice benefit. Now that school is out I can use my lunch bag instead of Elizabeth using it. She has a cute Hello Kitty bag but likes my plain black one better.
Hope the summer colds stay away from your house!
Update:
Daycare is closed this morning and Beth's husband will be manning the duties this afternoon. Poor Beth has ear and sinus infections. Yuck.
