I took yesterday as a Comp Day for working the Friday after Thanksgiving. I wish I could take more time. I was more relaxed yesterday than I have been in ages.
The Qwest guy came and installed the new phone jack in the basement along with a dedicated DSL line. Now I can take off the DSL filters from my phones. He did it all so fast that he even had time to set up my wireless. Hot Diggity Dog. In the next week I'll put the desk from Ikea together and set up the office in the basement. Right now I am on a little table with a bar stool. Its working out sweet.
While I was waiting for him to come, I moved some toys around to make room for the tree. Then I brought down all the boxes of stuff. I think there were 5, 6 if you count the box with the tree.
After he was done I had lunch and then went shopping. I love Grand Ave. I stopped at Creative Kids and got a lot of stuff. Then I stopped at Bibelot and bought some more stuff and ended at Restoration Hardware. They were having a 40% off sale, so I bought more stuff. I went home with all that goodness and hid most of the packages. I relaxed about 30 minutes and then went to Target for groceries and a new purse for me. I found a couple more presents for my two great nephews (wow does that make me sound old). So the only gifts I need to get are for my 3 nieces. And check with Dad to see if he wants to buy anything.
I picked up the girls and they rushed in and said hi to Freddy (the traveling elf) and had fun putting the decorations all over. I'll have to take pictures later today. Elizabeth had a blast putting all the mangers up. The girls got one from Grandma Jo and I had picked up one too so they each have a Fisher Price one. We also have the one I grew up with. Elizabeth does the same thing I did as a kid. Its fun watching her organize the figures.
Now its time to get ready for the day. Really wish I had another Comp Day today. Wonder if Santa would give me a couple?
UPDATE:
Sadly, no more comp days. And unfortunately it took me 4 hours to slightly relax at work. I am exhausted - as are the girls. Its looking like we need some family time as well as play time. Time for some decisions I think. Too many activities maybe?

It's always nice to have a little time to yourself to catch up. You deserved it!
