7 Years Ago Today

I became a Mom to the most wonderful girl in the whole world. Its hard to explain the feelings when I first saw Elizabeth but I was content and confident that she was my daughter. Elizabeth was crying and hot and scared but soon figured out I wasn't so bad. I love you Elizabeth Grace ShiPing and can't wait to see what else we do together.
Before I came along Elizabeth was living with her Foster Family

I have come to realize that even though this is a very happy event for me, its one of mixed emotions for Elizabeth. She was leaving everything and everyone she knew. I was thinking of her birth family and foster family last night while watching Elizabeth sleep. I pray they are doing well and can feel Huang Shi Ping's love from here. I thank Elizabeth's foster family for helping my daughter through a scary time. I hope some day that we all get to meet.

Here is Elizabeth on 3/23/2004 - One Year as a Family. I can't believe its been Seven Years.

Now on to more pictures.

On Sunday a few of the families from the travel group were able to get together. We went to Como and had a wonderful time. I took the pictures of the girls but Elizabeth took the flower pictures.

Here are 3 of the girls in April of 2005 also from Como Zoo.

Here is the classic red couch photo. Elizabeth is the third one on the left. I love how Kiah is looking at Elizabeth. Kiah is the girl in the purple dress in the picture above. The little girl on the right is Elizabeth W and she is in pink in the picture above.

No post would be complete without thanking my wonderful Auntie Joanne. She is now known as Grandma to both of my girls. I would not have been able to do make the trip to get Elizabeth without you! Thank you forever Auntie.

I loved seeing all those photos, what a little sweetie - then and now.  I am slightly jealous you are able to spend time with your travel group - but happy for you.  I wish we had ours closer.  Anyway you are an awesome family and we are so happy to know you!

Wow...seven years!!! :)

It definitely is a mixed bag of emotions, isn't it???

I am forever grateful to the women who lovingly took care of my girls before me.

We pray for Shea's first mom & foster family and Avery's nannies....

Sometimes this is a lot to process ...even for adults...

I pray for you & Elizabeth, your relationship as mother & daughter, and many celebrations of life to come!!!

BTW, love the pictures of Elizabeth when she was little...
They are adorable!

Congratulations on your 7th anniversary. An amazing mother and two sweet girls add up to a wonderful family. It's hard to believe I've had the honor of knowing Elizabeth for half her life. I've seen her grow from an adorable little girl to a lovely big girl. I know the future has good things on the horizon for Elizabeth.
