Big day for Elizabeth

Yesterday was Elizabeth's first ever Gymnastics Banquet. She received some pins and patches and a level 4 pin and trophy. We will have to figure out how to display those so they don't get lost.

She had her dress all picked out.

And I ok'd the lipstick.

I did help her put it on though. She told me she liked it really red. I was smiling when she said that. Why are you smiling Mom? Because I really didn't think we would have a talk about lipstick until you were 14. :-)

Elizabeth decided that we needed to take the pictures by the Lilac Tree because its prettier there Mom. So, please ignore the creeping charlie and dandelions on the lawn. She also decided she had three poses. The one above and then these two.

Ella also picked out a nice outfit and was ready to go. Earlier in the day she was watching a show about how when you make a promise you have to keep it. Then she told me that when she makes promises to her boyfriend Adrian, she always keeps them Really? I didn't think I would be having that kind of talk yet with my 5 year old. It was a banner day for us all.

At the banquet, Elizabeth sat with her team and enjoyed her time with them. We sat with a nice group of moms and Ella did pretty well. Here is Elizabeth getting her special items as well as a picture of the level 4 girls that were at the banquet (3 were not able to attend)

Next Sunday is First Communion. Elizabeth wore her new white shoes to the banquet and it was good she broke them in. Now I hope they won't hurt her much. But, I think I'll bring her flip flops with during the wait before the mass so she can save her feet. :-)

Hi Joan, I followed a link from NHBO and found your blog. Your daughters are both just beautiful! I also have an Elizabeth (born in China) but we've always called her Ella!
