Mermaids, Magic, and Friends

Last night I made Ella cry. I was surprised that telling her Mermaids do have magic would make her cry.

She asked if she was a mermaid how would she walk when she got of the water. I told her there is magic mermaid dust.

No they are not Magic Mom. Adrian's (her boyfriend from day-care) Dad said they are not real and they don't have magic.

So, I told her each family can have different beliefs and I believe Mermaids are Real and Magic.

She cried. I guess she wanted Adrian's Dad to be right.

We were out celebrating Cindy's Birthday so Cindy, Reenie and Sandy all told Ella that Mermaids do have magic but that didn't help. Sandy's Waffle Fries did help though. Thanks for sharing.

I really think Mermaids could be real. But, I also wanted her to know that things/emotions/faith is real, even when you can't see it.

Later that night Elizabeth and I were talking. She asked for my advice on how to deal with a friend that is being mean. She asked me what I would do because You are my Mom and I need to Know.

Wow... I told her I would ask why are you being Mean and to ask them to stop. And if they didn't stop, I would go play with someone else and take a short break from the one that wasn't being nice. But, I was honest and said I don't remember what I did when I was a girl her age. That is the drawback to being old. Either that or my memory is always shot and maybe I wouldn't have remembered either way.
