On Thursday our car overheated while Ella and I were in line at the BK. Elizabeth was at gymnastics and Ella was napping in the back seat. I had been chatting on the phone with my brother and pulled over in the parking lot to chat but had the car running. I had been telling Kevin that I didn't think my car would make it much longer and it was time to start looking. When we were done chatting I pulled into the order lane. Right before we ordered my car BILLOWED smoke. Luckily no one was behind us and I backed up, parked and turned it off.
Called Todd and he came to help. We had it towed to the shop and Todd took us to get Elizabeth at gymnastics. Ella slept almost the whole time. I woke her before the tow truck got there and she watched with eagle eyes.
Friday Todd took me to the bus stop and Ella to Day care and Elizabeth to School on his way to work. On the way home Ella and Beth (Day care) met me when I got off the bus. Elizabeth was picked up by Todd. Thank you Todd for helping me out.
Friday during the day the shop called. So here is where the blessing comes in.
My 2000 Ford Taurus with 92000 miles was put on the scope and it has many many problems.
T Rod has play, Sway bar has play, Ball joints in the front are also loose, Springs in back are broken, Both cooling fans don't work. With the cost of repair I decided to not have it repaired.
The blessing is we were not driving when one of the loose parts broke. That would have been very scary and maybe who knows how bad of a result to us. So, I think my car overheating was a blessing.
I have been doing some research and will be test driving a couple of vans tomorrow after work.
Todd is going on a business trip today and is going to let us use his vehicle. Thanks again Todd!
I am blessed with great friends and family. My sister in law offered up my niece's car since Alissa is at school. Thanks Doreen!
Kirsten called and offered up her van because they don't drive much during the week - Thanks Kirsten!
Cindy offered up her truck because she uses her Dad's - Thank you Cindy.
Reenie picked Elizabeth and I up to bring us to a church retreat yesterday and watched Ella - and brought us back home later Thanks Reenie
Sandy picked us up to bring us to Reenies for a BBQ and Todd brought us back home. Thanks Sandy and Todd (and Reenie)
Blessings abound for me.
