Oh What a Great Day

We had no plans and it stayed that way.

We went to church but Dad wasn't feeling well enough to go.  So we visited in his room for a bit and then I took the girls to breakfast.

At home they got their packbacks out and finished their homework.  All of it.  Without a fight or angry word between us.

I still had some kitchen choirs to do and we had found some old kit crafts so the girls each made a foam marshmellow hula girl and then they each made a hula skirt.  These were crafts from Elizabeth's 5th birthday.

Todd stopped over and fixed the bathroom sink.  Thanks Todd.

We were going to have a sand box emptying contest but it ended up being me and  Elizabeth.  Ella was decorating the jungle gym.  :-)  The sand had gotten wet and the sandbox is now too small for the girls.  So the sand is now gone and the sand box is leaning on the play house.

I started to mow but Elizabeth wanted leaves to jump in.  She had started raking earlier but stopped to play.  I was just going to mow over it all.  But that got her going.  She raked a pile where I had mowed so it was safe.  I'll have to remember that trick next time.

The girls played and I mowed and then they went inside to play Polly Pockets.  TV did not get turned on until right before supper.

Now I am letting them watch one more show and then its bath and bed.

I am very grateful for a fun family day.

Update:
Ella took her bath first and while Elizabeth was taking her's I was putting clean sheets on Ella's bed.  Ella stayed in the bathroom to sing Chinese songs with Elizabeth.  I listened with a happy smile on my face.  I thought about running downstairs and getting something to record it with but stayed up and just enjoyed.
