Processing

Ella is so eager to use her Chinese language skills.  She asks Elizabeth what the Chinese word for something is all the time.  Elizabeth was always a little hesitant to show me her Chinese skills but that is changing by the force of Ella.  For awhile Elizabeth would answer Ella's questions but this week she initiated a discussion in Chinese.  Ella's smile was huge.  I stood in the dining room and heard my girls discussing toothbrushes in Chinese.  I can only assume that was the subject matter because I then saw the toothbrushes in their hands.  I better get busy trying to learn Chinese.

Last night in the van Ella was asking her questions and we had Elizabeth W and Mikaela W with us and we were on the way to drop the Elizabeths off at gymnastics.

Ella asked:  "How do you say China in Chinese?"  "How do you say China Mom in Chinese?" and "How do you say orphanage in Chinese?"  She got answers to the first two questions but no one knew how to say orphanage and then they were on to other topics.

So I guess Ella is processing multiple things at once.  Way to multi task Ella!

Today is the end of the first semester and I can't wait to find out how my girls are doing.  I think they are doing well but its always good to talk to the teachers too.
