Seriously Dad, how did you do it?

Dad - I need your knowledge.  How the heck did you raise 3 kids as a single parent after Mom died?  I am living the same life right now and I feel like I am falling behind a little bit more every day.

I am so lucky to have you as an example of a great parent but really?  How did you do it?  I know you didn't spend much time on yourself outside of the home for just you and I am still trying to fit that in.

The kids seem to have more homework than the boys and I did, but I only have two kids and you did it with three.

You worked close to home and we walked to school and then to the sitters.  I drive the girls to school and pick them up after work. That travel time does make for a longer day.

What I want to know is how you got the time to pay bills, do laundry, clean the house, mediate our fights, play when time permitted, work on the house as well as relax after we went to bed.  Or was that your time to nap?   ;-)

Thanks Dad!  You are my rock and my inspiration.  I miss the talks we used to have.  I need to stop by and visit more without the girls so I can get your advice.  Love you.

Your dad raised a great daughter and I have no doubt you'll do the same--TWICE. Great parents raise great parents--you and your father are proof of that!
