Happy Year of the Rabbit

Another wonderful performance at school.   This year both of my girls were performing and my smile was huge.  All the classes did great but of cource I think K1 and 3B did the best.

Ella asked me the night before if I would scream when I saw her.... I did - in my head.  The class did a great dance and Ella was one of the flag wavers.  They were also the first class to perform and set a great tone for the performance.

Elizabeth had been hush hush about her part.  She only would tell me it was at the end.  Her class was doing The Mouse Bride story.  It turns out Elizabeth was the marriage official and the one that kept the other kids in line.  She came in at the end and spoke clearly in the mic and then when it was time for them to line up and say Happy New Year in chinese, Elizabeth was the one counting in chinese to get them ready.... e r sun.

Loved it all

I started the day helping the kids in K1 get ready and then watched the morning performance.  When that was done I helped in the lunchroom and got to hug both of my girls.  Then during the afternoon performance I stood at the door when it was Ella and Elizabeth's turn and then relaxed in the now clean lunchroom.  I picked up the girls and one of our friends when they were done and we left school about 3:30.  We had a nice pizza dinner at home and then I fell to bed exhausted.  Can't wait for next year now that I am rested.  :-)

This is just part of Ella's class.  Another parent got this photo as the kids were lining up.  I was already in my spot in the gym so I was really happy when they shared this one.
Here is the flag girl.  All the kids had so much fun.
Here is Elizabeth.  The boy in front of her was the Mouse Brides' Father.  The boy behind her was the other Wedding Official.  He just started at school this year so he is catching up on Chinese.  Elizabeth's teacher wanted me to know that Elizabeth was key in this boy learning his lines.  Of course it was a little funny because he is the tallest in his class and I think Elizabeth is one of the shortest.  :-)
The wedding officials with the mouse brides parents.
Lining up for the ending song
This one was from the afternoon performance.  The girls on the left are Walls.  ;-)
One of the teachers and one of the office staff created a great lion and their Lion Dance was a huge hit.  They also came in during both lunch shifts and all the kids loved it.
