Just got done reading "The Secret Daughter" by Shilpi Somaya Gowda. Its a novel about a girl that was given up at birth in India and then adopted by Americans. I loved it! And I am sorry to the people sitting by me at the Food Court. I should have known I would cry at the ending but I just couldn't put it down.
I hope when the time comes, that I am able to help my daughters continue on this path they didn't choose.
I pray that their birth families have peace and somehow can know that they are loved.
I am also going to have the girls write letters to their birth families and we are going to send them to the orphanage. Who knows maybe with God's help, the messages will get to the right people.
I highly suggest this book to everyone, not just those that have adopted children. It is an amazing story of motherhood, fatherhood and the choices and sacrifices everyone in a family makes.
Thank you Elizabeth and Ella for being my daughters. I hope and pray that your other Moms can feel the love you send and please know that I will always have your back in whatever you decide to do.
