I have been working on making changes to help our busy life.
I have thought long and hard about my options. I want the girls to stay at their Chinese Immersion School for now and need to find a better public school option for Highschool. So, even though I grew up in this home, I have made the decision to sell. I talked to my brothers and Dad months ago and got their full support. Dad was very understanding and is asking every time I see him "Is the sign in the yard yet?" Well when I go see Dad on Sunday, I can finally say YES!!!!
Most of the work was purging the stuff we have. I knew we had way too much stuff but wow... it was amazing. 12 -15 large bags to donation, boxes in the attic for Garage Sale and we still have too much stuff. But, the inside of the house is painted, the white on the outside is painted, the front porch is inviting again and the house is very clean. It has been alot of work and took me way longer than I thought. I had many offers of help from friends and family but most of the work I was doing was at night or after gymnastics on saturday so it made it hard to let people help. Thank you for the help and the offers and I will use everyone that wants to help when it comes time to pack everything up to move to the new place.
The girls were nervous about the big change and we have had many talks. The length of time to move to the "Sell This House step probably didn't help them. But, they are now talking about what color to paint their new rooms and how the new loft beds will work. We are going to get some cool Ikea loft beds for each of them for their new rooms. Elizabeth wants a blue room with clouds and Ella wants pink. I think we can make that happen.
We have also put an offer on a house that has a better commute to their current school and is close to a good public highschool. The offer is contingent on selling ours but we are all hopeful we have it priced to sell and pray it moves fast. It would be awesome to be in the new house before Christmas.
I am also looking forward to being able to relax soon on weekends and have more time to spend with my friends. I miss them all and can't wait to have BBQ's and Bunco nights at my place. :-)
I will miss this house and I am sure I will cry when it comes down to the big move day. Just seeing the sign in the yard is a little shocking so when this house is empty that will be hard. But I have many years of loving memories stored away in my heart and those will move with me. We will make new memories and have a better life in our new home... God Willing.
