Recently we had a meeting with her gymnastic's coaches. They were asking her to push a little harder to continue to learn new skills so she can move up to team level soon. They gave her 6 goals to work on to continue to grow. So far she has completed two of the six. I am so proud of her hard work and you could just see her glowing tonight. The first skill she mastered was doing a cartwheel on the regular balance beam without a soft cushion below it. I saw that on Saturday. We were both grinning from ear to ear. The next goal was connecting on a back handspring. During a break tonight Elizabeth said she didn't think she could do it. But she was going to keep working 100%. The next thing, she is running out to me saying MOM come watch me do it by myself..... Way to go Elizabeth. The coaches are noticing your renewed commitment and can really tell you are working harder.
Ella and Sleep
Today a coworker was asking me about Ella's pain level after her P flap surgery. Kathy's grandson will be going thru a procedure soon sort of close. He is a baby though so he will be in the hospital longer. I remember when Ella woke from her surgery - she was very mad. I assumed it was all pain, but now that I know her habits more, I think it was partly due to being woken up before she was ready. I don't mean to discount her pain level because I know it was high. But, I also know my daughter more now. She is not a happy camper when woken early. She loves her sleep and does very well at it.
