Chinese New Year School Performance

Last Thursday the girls' school had their annual CNY Performance.  In the past it was held at the school but this year they moved it to Bethel University.  Great decision.  It was a wonderful space and everyone seemed to love it.

The girls asked Todd as well as Kevin and Doreen to watch them.  It was really nice of them all to come and watch.  Thanks!

I took the day off so I could help out.  Last year I helped in Ella's class and this year it was Elizabeth's.  I really didn't have to do much - just braided hair for two girls and just hung out in the classroom as well as at the dress rehearsal at the venue.

The second best part about volunteering is getting to save seats for the performance.  I got to the venue before the girls.  The school had 6 buses I think to transfer all the kids.  Here they are coming in:

Some of the girls were showing some pre show jitters... Elizabeth was one.  So I took her for a walk to visit with Ella
After that is was Dress Rehearsal.  Elizabeth calmed down and enjoyed herself. I took the pictures at the dress rehearsal and video during the actual performance.  Here are some of the pictures.

Waiting with friends

Ella's class started with the red cover.  They peeked out all over - it was really cute.

Ella was smiling the whole time.

The 4th grade classes combined and sang two songs.  During the actual performance Todd asked if Elizabeth had a microphone near.. nope... it was all her power.  ;-)

After the performance, we went out to eat with a couple other families.  Kevin and Doreen wanted burgers and malts but we wanted chinese.  It was really nice having them there to watch the girls.  I know they were both very happy to have other family and friends there.  But, we also ordered a DVD and will have a viewing for Poppa, Grandma Jo and Uncle Jerry.
