Conferences were yesterday.
Elizabeth and Ella are doing great!
Elizabeth has made improvements in her English Reading scores - up a whole level. She should be at grade level by the end of the school year. I am so proud of her hard work and also heard what a great attitude she has at school. Love It! Her math is just a little low but going up. I can't tell you what a relief it is to know she is moving in the right direction. Her English teacher also said that Elizabeth is a great writer and showed me some of her writing journal. So I guess all those notebooks that E always wants are going to have a good use. Her spelling is getting better too. And her social maturity seems to have taken a leap. She received compliments from two teachers this week for her ability to stay out of the drama and to continue with her work! If you knew this group of girls you would appreciate how huge that is. They have had drama since First Grade. I am very proud of Elizabeth's effort and attitude as well. Way To Go!
Ella is a dream in class. Her teacher loves her and kept saying how hard Ella works and that she isn't afraid to ask questions and is doing great on her tests. The two I saw were 97 out of 100 and 96 out of 100. Ella got an Exceeds on respectfulness and kindness. That is Ella! She loves her teacher and her teacher is really getting to know my girl. She can see that Ella likes to have independent play and she is reading by herself alot. Her teacher will redirect her to a group activity to help her learn how to work with others more comfortably. She is also making sure Ella is not being treated bad in class - so that is good. She is also Ella's protector outside of class with recess stuff. That was a huge relief given the bullying Ella had earlier in the year. I also got to sit with Ella and her speech teacher. Dr. Li told me over and over how hard Ella works and how well she is doing. You could just see Ella beam. I was too. Ella has always worked hard on her speech therapy and is now working on the r blends. That is a normal kid sound issue and not just cleft related. Awesome work and I loved watching the two of them work together. You could tell they really like each other.
All in all the girls are doing great!
I am also proud of my nephew Josh. I am proud of all my nieces and nephews but Josh is leaving soon for Afghanistan. Please keep him in your prayers.
