Discussions and Updates

One day last week Ella asked me if I liked to color when I was her age - Yes, I did Ella.

Did you like to sing too Mom?  I sure did Ella.

How many stuffed animals did you have?  I think I had one or two.

Awwww Mom - where are they now?  I don't know I think Grandpa gave them away.

Without asking you Mom?  You know Ella, sometimes parents do things without asking their kids for the ok.  I am sure Grandpa was cleaning and donated them.

You won't do that to me with my stuffed animals will you Mom?  No, I won't Ella.  ;-)

On Wednesday I picked up the girls.  Ella was finishing up something in the game room at school so I said I would get her sister first.  Elizabeth was finishing up her Duct Tape art class and made a cool wallet.  She asked me to go up with her to her locker so I did.  She showed me a cool letter.  Elizabeth was chosen to have lunch with the school administrator and with other staff. Elizabeth's name was drawn as part of the monthy Golden Ticket.  That was a great moment.  I told E I was very proud of her and that she should be proud too.  When the kids are caught doing something extra and good, they sometimes get a golden ticket and once a month they draw for lunch with Sue.  Elizabeth got to have Chinese food.  She loved it.  I am happy in her progress because she is doing so much better at staying out of the drama that takes place with girls and does alot of extra stuff like Teacher helper.

Ella finished her detailed drawing about fairy castles and met us in the hallway.  She was a little bummed that she hasn't gotten drawn for the golden ticket lunch but it was a good life lesson in being happy for someone you love even when you are sad for yourself.  Never an easy feat to do.  Good job Ella and if you keep working hard and doing extra you will keep getting your golden tickets too.
