Might have been caught

it is Christmas Eve. I set my alarm so I could do the Santa thing. Thankfully I woke before the alarm. I thought that meant good luck.  I brought the bags down and set them by the couch.  I put a couple "date with mom" certificates in the tree and then made a pit stop for the basement bathroom. As I was coming back up to the living room, Elizabeth was coming down the stairs.  She said she heard noises and wanted to know what I was doing. I had nothing and said just doing stuff and sent her back to bed. I finished up and was putting things in the stockings when one fell.  That was loud. I had to move the couch to get it and left the couch out away from the wall. Hopefully the cat will stay away from the stuff if she can't reach it.  But I think the gig is probably up with Elizabeth.  Oh well it was probably time anyway.

It is now 1:45 and after I eat the cookies I hope to fall back to sleep.

Merry Christmas.

As the great writer Erma Bombeck wrote, "There's nothing sadder in the world than to awake Christmas morning and not be a child." I hope Elizabeth is a child a little longer. Bravo for you, busy mom, for making Christmas merry and bright. We wish you the happiest of holidays! Greta and Flynn
