Wow, what a slug

I just saw I have not updated since August... such a slug I am...

Today I had one of those conversations where I wanted to put it down for us to remember.

Ella is one of the school's crossing guard this year and this is her week.  We need to be at school earlier than our normal time and she likes to be in the van ready to go.  So she was already in the van when I got there.  She asked me if she had a big head.  I wasn't sure if she meant size or ego so I asked and she said Ego.  I told her that no, I don't think she does and she thought she did because she only talks about herself.  Again I disagreed and reminded her how often she asks friends and others about their day and asks specific questions about  what she knows has been going on with them such as how is their dog.   I hope she believed me because she really is one of the sweetest kids I know.

Then we get to school and a mom in the car next to us at dropoff called me over.  Elias's mom is chaperoning the field trip today to the Science Museum and she was asking her son the scoop on the kids... she asked him who the nicest girl was and he said it was Ella.  Thanks Marissa for sharing that lovely comment with me.  I'll share with Ella when I see her later today.  Also, thank you for the picture on Facebook of Ella enjoying herself:

I also need to send some Kudos to Elizabeth as well.

Last week I got an email from one of her teachers with the heading: Elizabeth-Math.  I was hoping it was good news and it was:
Hi Joan,
I just wanted to let you know that Elizabeth is doing really well in math so far.  She's working hard and really seems to be understanding the content.  I've really been impressed with her performance.  It's been a pleasure.

Love the communication from this school.  They do pretty well with letting parents know what is going on and I always love hearing how well my girls are doing.  Thanks Katy!

I also have some updates with pictures to do soon.

I went with for the 8th Grade School Trip to Washington DC and loved it.  Elizabeth was glad to have me there too.  I'll put in an update soon on that trip.

Now we are back to our normal busy schedule but it is all good.

Back to my world of sluggery.   :-)

Joan, I enjoy hearing updates on your very sweet, caring girls. Ella and Elizabeth are thoughtful, smart, and kind. (Just like their mom!) Happy October!
