Shopping for Fashion

The girls and I went shopping yesterday.

After Christmas Ella mentioned she only had 3 shirts to go with her jeans.  She also wanted to get a couple of skirts.  She has noted recently that she wants to dress in her style.  She has a very cute style and modest as well.  Which is good because I am kind of firm on that.  So she said she wanted to get blouses with ties and plaid skirts.  We went to the Mall of America and hit all the after Holiday sales, We did find one blouse in xxs Petite with an attached scarf.  It looks really cute on her.  But the plaid skirts were impossible to find.  We then went to the regular store made for pre teen girls and found another cute blouse.  This one didn't have a tie or scarf but Ella was ok with it.  I smiled though when she was trying some on.  She had to make sure it was the look she wanted in the mirror before she said yes or no.  And she is also frugal and stuck with the 2 blouses.  She wanted a solid color one too but so far we haven't found the right one.

Ella doesn't really enjoy shopping and usually says she is ok with what she has so when she said she wanted to go, I wanted to make sure I listened.  We had a moment in one store though where the two girls were fighting.  I talked quietly with them but was surprised when we checked out that the guy at the register asked Ella if she was cranky.  I was really surprised and said no, she isn't crabby, she is tired of shopping.

Elizabeth is also growing and needed new jeans.  That is starting to become an issue if they are not the jeggings variety because then then are too long.  So we need to find a tailor to sew up the jeans to fit and I think we can do that this week. We did find a cute pair for Elizabeth as well and Ella got a new pair of shoes as well.   I also got two new tops for me.

We also shopped for books.  Ella mentioned for Christmas she wanted to help foster kids so she got a Barnes & Noble gift card.  She picked up 4 books for young kids that we are going to send to a foster program to give to kids.  I had found a BN gift card at home too so we also got something for each of us as well.

So, all in all it was a good shopping day.
