Shopping

As the girls get older Christmas shopping has changed.

They now buy presents for each other as well as for me.  I gave them really boring ideas - sorry girls.  But I suggested new hot pads or oven mitts or a new toaster.  I have a feeling they are going to put their money together and get me something.

This year Ella has been saying she wants to give her gifts to kids that don't have enough.  That is sweet and I will get her a gift card to a fabric store so she can make blankets or something but it makes it hard for Santa.   But, I think I can give Santa a hint.  Maybe he can go to an antique store and get an older sewing basket.  Ella has been into hand sewing like crazy and has all her stuff in a busted back pack.  Time to upgrade.

Elizabeth's present was her new phone.  She wanted to change from Samsung to Iphone and I paid the upgrade fee.  I said it could be her Xmas gift from me or she could pay me back.  She decided to leave it as her gift.  But, Santa will be getting her something too.  I think he is looking at one of those speakers that work with iphones.  That will work well as Elizabeth has been getting into her own music lately.

We are going to try the one stop shop for most of the stuff tonight and that means we will have to split up in store and at the check out so they don't see what I got them and vice versa.  :-)

They both have also experienced the Secret Santa joys in school.  I think they had fun with it.  Elizabeth had a tough nut though.  They all gave suggestions and both his suggestions were over the price limit.  But, we figured a way to try to get him what he wanted within the range.  Hope he ended up being ok with it.

Ella's buddy is allergic to certain foods but she has been very aware and made sure to get stuff that works for that.  Their final gift to each other is tomorrow. I hope she has fun.

These are some oldies from when I was a kid.  Happy Holidays.
