Saturday on the way to Poppas:
Mom, Is Santa Claus already married?
Yes - to Mrs Claus
Why is Santa married Mom?
Because she helps him like the reindeer and elves do
Like how?
If Santa is sick, Mrs Claus helps him feel better
Why aren't you married Mom? (this is where I think there should be a warning bell... important question by child ahead)
Because I want to find the right man to marry
When people marry they sleep in the same bed, right Mom?
Yes they do Elizabeth
What if you marry a mean man mom?
I will only marry someone that will be nice to me and to you and your sister.
Are there mean dads out there Mom? (Where is that warning bell again?)
Yes, there are but most dads are nice and want the best for their kids.
You just don't want to be married Mom
Yes I do. Just like I wanted to be a mom.
So what about us Mom? How did you get us?
I wrote letters and filled out lots of paperwork and got permission to bring my daughters home from China.
Ok Mom
Do you want a Dad?
Yes I do Mom - Can we just pretend we have one?
No, honey, I don't think so. I think our family is pretty good right now and we don't need to pretend. If it happens that would be nice but if it doesn't, we are fine with just us three.
Ok Mom
I bet the next time we have this discussion, Elizabeth will say something about filling out paperwork for a Dad.
The whole time Ella was listening and paying attention. When she is able to talk more, I can only imagine how interesting my drives will be.
Saturday and Sunday Ella said, I China. So, she is paying attention too.
Here is a picture of the girls with Sister Isadore. Sister is my great aunt - she is retired and living in the home for the Sisters of St Joseph.

It was a nice afternoon with Reenie and Cindy. On Sunday my brother came over with Dad to help clear my sidewalks and drive way. Kevin did the snowblowing and I shoveled where the snow blower couldn't reach. We went out to breakfast and Dad hung out with me. I brought down all the Christmas stuff from the attic and then the girls decorated the tree when we got back from Elk River. They had a blast at Grandmas. Sledding with Madison and Shelby and hot cocoa.

Catherine of Catherines Chatter issued a challenge for Christmas Trees. I think it was mostly for families that are struggling with their unbearable wait for China Adoptions (Currently running 24 months). So here are the girls with the tree:
Elizabeth putting the garland around the tree:

Elizabeth found the old tree skirt. The ruffle was ripping so now its a skirt and a scarf for playing dress up:

Too bad Ella doesn't have a shirt on or this could have been our Christmas card:

Sorry this one is blurry - This is Elizabeth with her Bob The Builder ornament. She was saying earlier in the week that it was special and only she could decide who can touch it.

Good weekend for us all.

It was so nice to meet you guys at Julie's! Seeing you and your two daughters makes me so motivated to pursue the second adoption.... I guess I should get Tate first then work on the second?!
If you find a place to do the paper work for a Dad, I would be interested in pursuing this too!... TOO CUTE
