Monday morning was tough for us. We did way too much last weekend and the girls' behavior showed it that morning. Ella got under control faster but they both were grounded from TV that night and bed time was moved up to 7:30.
Elizabeth kept fuming and tantruming for more than 15 minutes. She wouldn't get down from the upper bunk even though I kept extending her punishment. At this point her grounding was now 2 weeks no TV, computer or play dates... What got her down was my promise that I would get help to take the bunk bed apart so there wouldn't be an upper bunk. That got her.
Elizabeth must have spent time thinking that day because when Ella and I got to school Elizabeth was ready to go. That was SWEET!!! I have been trying to get her to do that but have not had luck until now. She did the same on Tuesday. This morning she woke up and got ready while I was in the shower in the basement. She was all spit and polished pretty and then tried to help Ella pick out an outfit. I was listening but not speaking up. Elizabeth was patiently asking Ella what she wanted to wear and no yelling from either. Wow. What a great morning.
I have reduced Elizabeth's sentence because of her good choices. The grounding was set to end 1/26/09 but now its ending 1/23/09. Way to Go Elizabeth!
p.s. I have also set the bedtime to a firm 8:15 and we are going to have more down time on Sundays.

Sounds like the stiff sentence worked. My Livi is a handful and when she doesn't get enough sleep...watch out!
