Tough Today

Today is one of the days where its really hard being single. My poor kids got a crabby mom yesterday because I am coming down with a cold. I try to be patient but when I am sick I get a tad cranky. :-)

Note to the friends and family in town, this is not a subtle way of asking for help. Its just an entry talking about what I am feeling today.

I also found out that my Dad is fighting a cough. Plus he still has some pain from his surgery so I am calling the doctor about that today. He also wants to have the cough checked out by his general MD. He didn't feel like talking very long this morning. I called the nurse at Dad's place and she was heading down to take Dad's temp and had faxed a memo to Dad's doc to ask for cough syrup. She will let me know if Dad has a temp. So I may be taking Dad to two appointments this week if needed.

The bummer is my brother Kevin is out of town for work this week - he usually is the one that deals with Dad's doctor appointments. Plus we are really short staffed at my work due to training classes for a few members of our team.

I need to just relax and not worry about work or keeping my house clean this week I think. Just pray we don't get a snow storm. If we do, I will be asking for help.

UPDATE
I did take Dad to the doctor today and now he is on antibiotics and cough syrup. Glad they were able to fit us in. I am now at home with my girls and feeling a little better. The girls are relaxing and I'll be making dinner soon. Then early bed for us all I think. :-)
