Baby Teeth

Yesterday Elizabeth had two baby teeth pulled to make room for her big teeth coming in.  These were on the upper jaw.  Last year she had two pulled from her lower jaw.  That was so hard on her and she was so scared.  Thankfully the girls had a dental cleaning appt last week and Elizabeth could talk to the dentist about her fears.  He said she could bring a movie and that they would use the happy gas longer before they did the novacaine.  Since  yesterday was a day off of school, I had worked in the morning and had the afternoon off.  So, both girls were with me.  I took Elizabeth back and they put the movie in and the happy gas started.  Then I went to check on Ella.  She wanted to go back to see Elizabeth and I didn't think that was too cool.  We got some water instead.  I poked my head back there to see how Itty was doing and softly asked the aide if she wanted me to stay... she said Elizabeth was ok so I went back to Ella.  I checked one more time but mostly stayed with Ella.  The next thing I knew, the dentist was in the waiting area telling me Elizabeth did great and it was all done!  Last year Elizabeth was really loud in her unhappiness.  This year I didn't hear a thing.  I am glad I didn't stay with Elizabeth because she was able to trust the dentist and know she knows she can handle even more.  It was hard to stay back but it ended up being the best thing.

Ella also was very concerned for her sister - at one point she told the dentist that she wished she could trade places so Elizabeth didn't have to feel the pain.  She also kept saying she felt sorry for Elizabeth.  But, know she can see her big sister can handle it.  So we all learned.

We went home and took care of gauze a few times and gave another tylenol and watched Kung Fu Panda 2.  That was the movie that Elizabeth brought in but we brought the wrong one.  She brought the blue ray, which we don't have and neither did the dentist.  The dvd copy was at home.  Opps.  but, Elizabeth watched Cars during the procedure so all was good.

After everyone was settled down we all took a nap.  I woke after 20 minutes but Ella slept about an hour and Elizabeth almost 2 hours.

Ella loves being on the warm radiator.  But, this is the first time she slept there.  I think she woke early because her neck got stiff.

Elizabeth did have gymnastics last night and she really wanted to go.  But, when she woke up from her nap she still looked tired.  I thought about it and then decided no. Her mouth was still hurting and I didn't want that to distract her while doing her work out.  Plus she wouldn't have been able to do anything that would mean being upside down.  So - no gymnastics last night.  She can go for it more on Thursday.

The tooth fairy was left a note.  It said that if she needed to take Elizabeth's teeth, that would be ok but that Itty really wanted to keep them.  And she also asked if the tooth fairy could help her sister Ella lose her tooth too.  TF left 3 golden coins for Elizabeth and 1 for Ella.  Hope the tooth fairy can find a bank to replenish her golden coin stash soon before Ella's teeth start coming out.
