We had our dinner in the living room last night while watching the show. I have to say in came in handy at Target too. I said oh my I wonder when the Dancing show starts. You would have thought I lit a fire cracker under Elizabeth. All of a sudden it was shopping in high gear for her. :-)
After the show it was a quick bath for Ella. I got out of the habit of reading them books when we were all fighting the cruds but am getting back into it. We read a book about telling time and The Red Thread by Grace Lin.

Elizabeth picked out the books. She called The Red Thread the King and Queen book with the string from the heart. Took me a little time to figure that out but while we were reading it there were comments and questions about their foster families.
Elizabeth even said I wish you hadn't taken me from China because I miss my Foster Mom. Surpisingly that didn't hurt. I told her I understood and its ok to miss her. I want both of my girls to know they can always talk about this stuff. We also talked about birth moms and Elizabeth described how she had to get out of her birth mom's tummy because she was too big. She did pretty good. Elizabeth also talked about her foster brothers and that she thinks her foster dad died. Ella said her foster mom died.
I think Ella is getting confused with our discussions of my mom. We have had talks about my mom and how Joanne is Grandma Jo and my mom is Grandma Grace. Since those talks Ella will ask me "your mom died?" or "your mom with jesus" so I think she was trying to be like that.
Elizabeth also asked what her foster mom's name was. We have had this discussion before so I told her again that I don't know but that Elizabeth picked a name for her. She couldn't remember what it was so I told her - Bo Bo. Then she remembered. I am not sure why Elizabeth thinks her foster father died. But, she did have one foster brother. When Elizabeth was younger she said she had 5 brothers I think and one was called Anson Johnson.
Here is a picture of Elizabeth with her foster family. Ella's pictures from the camera I sent before we got her were just of her.

That photo with Elizabeth's foster family is so sweet. Surely she was loved. They look proud to be with her.
Joan,
I love reading about your wonderful girls. You are doing such a great job. I appreciate how honest and open you are with Ella and Elizabeth. You're a good role model for me! Greta.
