Just the girls

  • Elizabeth has school pictures today. She wore the same shirt and sweater as last year and it still fits. I tried talking her out of it but she really wanted to wear it.
  • Ella is not a fan of scary things. We are seeing alot of Halloween decorations when driving around and she will let out a scream out of the blue. The latest one was because she saw a pumpkin. She doesn't have a quiet scream either.
  • Elizabeth is doing great at school. She has been working ahead in her math workbook. Today she told me her teacher yelled at her for going ahead. I think its great and she doesn't get many wrong. Difference of opinion I guess.
  • Ella is loving Chinese Dance class. She was showing me some of the moves while we were waiting for the medical receptionist yesterday. It was Ella's last one on one speech therapy and while we were in line she was showing the pointed toes.
  • Elizabeth is loving the new gymnastics place. I love watching her too. She is so good on the bars and is very limber. Her coach tells me that Elizabeth will say she doesn't know how to do something but then goes ahead and does it as shown. This last weekend she was pulling herself up the rope higher than I have ever gone. What a brave girl. It helps there is a pit of foam below it.
  • Ella is blaming the monster. No matter what I am looking for, her reply is maybe a monster took it. Where are my glasses, Maybe a monster took it Momma. Who broke this toy? Maybe a monster did it Momma. Who spilled on their dress? Maybe a monster did it Momma. I have asked her the monster's name - Its Monster. What color is it - red purple green.
  • Elizabeth is being a big girl. Yesterday she got herself all ready for school including brushing her teeth and combing her hair without being told to do it! Today she had her outfit all set and ready to put on when she came downstairs. That sure helps me because Ella still needs alot of prodding.
  • Ella was not happy today. She was moving slow and didn't listen to Mom when I asked her to do things so we were late leaving the house. Because of that we were late and we missed her bus to school. I took Elizabeth to school and then drove Ella to her school. She hated not being able to take the bus. Big old sad tears for Ella. I am sure they stopped once Mom was not in hearing distance. (Update: I asked Ella how long she cried, she said 5 minutes)
  • Morning adjustments will continue. Now they will both need to be in their day clothes, breakfast done, teeth brushed and hair combed before the TV goes on. That will be ok for Elizabeth but tough for Ella. Hope the lesson isn't too drawn out.
  • In the car today Ella was repeating what Elizabeth said word for word. It was driving Elizabeth nuts. I had a hard time keeping a straight face.
  • Ella is starting to call Elizabeth by her name instead of MeMe. She says Elizabeth in a very cute way.
  • I get a kick out of Ella's reply to this question: "What did you do today?" Her answer is always "Good"
  • Tonight we are carving pumpkins. Elizabeth wants to use Hearts for the eyes and a big heart around the whole face. Ella wants to do a cat but now wants a heart too. (Thanks Todd for helping us - I'll post our pictures and story soon)

Ella and our Tongginator share their dislike of scary things. We've cut down our store visits (which are minimal anyway) because of all the ghoulish decorations hanging around. I think many people look forward to November for this very reason. I can't wait for the skeletons to disappear. LOL.
