Both ends of the emotional spectrum today.

The post was going to be titled "Mom can I tell you something Bad?"

Ella and I dropped Elizabeth off at Faith Formation and then went to the library to turn in our overdue books. On the way there Ella asked: "Mom can I tell you something Bad?"

I said, "sure, you can tell me anything"

"Spiders and Big Snakes" "I like little snakes though"

Whew... I was worried. But I laughed and laughed... what a joy.

Then the "shoe" dropped.

We got home from Faith Formation and Mrs G was outside. She has been our neighbor since I was a little girl. Mrs G and my Dad have a great relationship. And now my girls love her too. After the girls went inside Mrs G told me that her dog Bailey died. Oh Man... so sad. She wanted me to tell the girls so they wouldn't wonder where Bailey was.

Elizabeth took it very hard. She was crying like she had lost her best friend. Ella asked questions about what happened and then tried to find something to make Elizabeth happy again. Elizabeth tried explaining that she was sad because she won't see Bailey anymore but I don't think Ella understands yet.

A friend that reads this blog is going through tough times with her dog too. Our thoughts are with you as well Deb.
