First Day of Pre K for Isabella Rose

Big day today. Ella started Pre K. She woke up in a great mood and looked adorable in her uniform.

Last night Elizabeth gave her little sister helpful advice about Fire drills. She did a great job.

We brought Elizabeth to school and then Ella and I went to day care. I waited at day care and walked with her to the bus. I did the same when Elizabeth started Pre K 3 years ago. At day care Ella kept asking if I was leaving or walking with her. I think she wanted to make sure. We also worked on the bus number and now she has the memorized. Good job.

There is another little girl near day care that takes the bus and is in Ella's class. We were glad to meet Rosemary and glad she will ride with Ella. They can be bus buddies. :-)

I had a request from Ella not to cry. She didn't see it but I did. As she was getting on the bus I got choked up. My big girl. Seems just like yesterday that we were coming home from China. She has come a long way.

I got in my car to meet the bus at school (did that for Elizabeth too) and after 15 minutes 4 buses were lined up. Ella was surprised I was there but she still had a big smile. I was able to walk her in and right inside the door, her teacher was waiting.

I can't wait to hear all about her day. I'll be stopping by day care about lunch time to watch her get off the bus and then I will head to work. Here are the pictures so far.

I met Ella's bus when she got back to Day Care. I could tell her smile was not real. After we hugged I asked what's wrong? She said, I'm going to miss you Mom and she started to cry. Poor girl didn't want me to leave. It didn't take her long to get back to her happy self. She was SO TIRED though. She changed into play clothes (her mom is too cheap to buy a bunch of uniforms for her so she wants to make these last) and I left. When I got there after work Beth told me that the first thing Ella said when she woke from her nap was "School is a really good thing"

:-)
